Lares Digital, a PropTech start-up, came to us as their Finance Director, Andrew Manley, was impressed with our marketing credentials having first met Nicolle and Bernice Choo, our marketing strategist, at Chessington Expo 2019. We started working with them in summer 2021 and since then eight experts from our team have delivered three strategy workshops, a brand redesign, web design & development and now a marketing retainer consisting of monthly digital campaign strategies and plans, content creation, social media marketing, SEO, performance measurement and reporting.

Business Vision, Brand position and Customer Journey workshops

“I was initially sceptical about the jargon used such as “customer journey”, but the work we did in the Business Vision, Brand position and Customer Journey workshops came into its own further down the line. The challenges Bernice put to myself and the other directors pushed our thinking into areas we hadn’t considered.

It felt like a necessary evil at the start. “I’ve paid up front to tell you about my business – why?!” However, everything was taken on board, assimilated and used. I now understand why it’s useful and where the need to do this work upfront comes from. The value was clearly demonstrated.”

Website Design & Build

“I put the website design out to tender with two other web design agencies. The others, after a 15-minute call, were telling me the structure of the website and what it would look like – something from the 1980s! I was disappointed with their lack of expertise after talking to Business Clan.

The way we worked together in the wireframe workshop meant you took the time to build a marketing led website not just shop a window.

And the delivery was perfect – a totally new website in three weeks flat is pretty damn impressive! Particularly, kudos to Lucy for pulling her hair out until late trying to resolve the emailing issue on launch day.

Overall service

The main difference with my interactions with Business Clan and other marketing and design agencies is that you took the time to understand my business rather than trying to plaster something on from a ready-made box.

Bernice is a really nice person, it’s a pleasure to work with her. Also, she doesn’t just say yes to clients. She pushes back and shows demonstrable expertise.

With Business Clan, you get a proper dialogue rather just a purchasing experience. And it works both ways. Business Clan brings the marketing experience, and we bring sector experience. We listen to one another, take things on board and come back with different perspectives. It’s a real partnership – we are equals with different fields of experience.
