Delia took the time to go through the information I provided beforehand so she could use our time productively and ask pointed questions. She followed up with thoughts and ideas which showed she really understood what I was up against.
Lucy met Nicolle at The Really Helpful Club Back to Business event in Guildford. Lucy is preparing her career change start-up ViewVo for launch and knew she would need support in areas which are not her expertise. She really liked the Business Clan concept of getting help in a range of areas from a ‘one stop shop’ so booked in a strategy meeting with Delia.
I met with Delia to discuss the steps I need to consider in building up to a launch. Before our meeting, Delia took the time to go through the information I had provided, so she could use the time productively and ask some pointed questions about what I had/hadn’t considered.
With a start-up, the danger is often you are so bought into your own idea, that you also buy into your own optimism: it is really valuable to have fresh eyes review it and, where necessary, challenge the concept.
She followed up with thoughts and ideas which showed she really understood what I was up against. I thought her insights were really useful, and so consequently, I have asked Business Clan to give me some additional support particularly around the marketing side of things.
I have no doubt that if this business idea does take off I will need more support and I feel confident they would be able to do a good job. If the idea doesn’t work, at least I’ll be able to say it wasn’t because I didn’t try or have the right expertise on board.
