Employment Rights Act 2025: Are You Ready?
Let us help you save you time, money and serious legal headaches.
Over 20 major employment law reforms are coming.
Ignoring the Employment Rights Act 2025 is not an option for SMEs.
The Myth
Many SME owners believe that because they operate informally, with few employees, they are exempt from strict legal procedures. Unfortunately, this is not true.
The Reality
Employment tribunals do not differentiate based on company size. Whether you have 2 or 200 employees, you must abide by the same statutory rights, including those in the Employment Rights Act 1996 and the Equality Act 2010.
The Risk
Due to a lack of formal HR, small businesses are more exposed to tribunal claims, which average around £14,000 for unfair dismissal, and unfortunately ignorance isn’t a valid defence. This risk is set to grow following an amendment to the Employment Rights Bill, which removes the statutory cap on unfair dismissal compensation.
